Office Type : On-site, 5 Days a Week
Salary : $150,000 – $200,000 + Equity
Company Description
We’re partnered with a bold, mission-driven startup on a quest to reindustrialize the West. Based in New York City, this company is building the foundational tools for Model-Based Manufacturing — a new way to tightly couple engineering design with manufacturing workflows.
Their platform is eliminating inefficiencies, tribal knowledge gaps, and communication silos that slow down production. Backed by leading investors and housed in the Empire State Building, the team operates with high trust, high expectations, and zero micromanagement. If you love real-world impact, technical rigor, and fixing broken systems in America’s industrial core, this is the place to be.
What You Will Do
As a Full Stack Engineer, you'll own mission-critical systems from the ground up and work closely with real manufacturers to ensure the software solves real-world problems. In this high-agency environment, you’ll:
Design, build, and scale complex web-based systems and frontend applications.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build features that integrate tightly with physical manufacturing workflows.
Work directly with users and customers to continuously refine the product based on real usage.
Lead or contribute to projects that span system architecture, frontend frameworks, API design, and distributed backend systems.
This is a hands-on, high-trust role where you’ll move fast, take ownership, and shape the future of the company’s platform.
Ideal Background
4–8 years of experience in software engineering with deep frontend focus.
Expertise in React, JavaScript/TypeScript, Redux, TailwindCSS, and modern component-driven architecture.
Experience designing frontends from scratch with reusable components and thoughtful UX.
Bonus points for experience with Three.js or other 3D visualization libraries.
Background in mechanical engineering or a CS degree from a top-tier university.
Strong understanding of high-performance frontend design and responsive UI development.
Must be a U.S. Person (due to government contracts and client requirements).
Preferred
Backend experience with Go, Python, or C++.
Familiarity with building APIs (REST, gRPC), working with databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB), and using tools like Celery, Redis, or Kafka.
Exposure to manufacturing, aerospace, or industrial software domains.
Experience with Figma, Next.js, WebAssembly (WASM), or Rust is a plus.
Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously and execute in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary: $150,000–$200,000
Equity: Generous early-stage stock option grant
Work Setup: In-person, 5 days a week at the Empire State Building in NYC
Benefits:
Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance
Generous PTO and Sick Leave
Commuter Benefits
High-agency culture with massive technical ownership
Direct access to founders and high-caliber engineering peers
Early opportunity to shape company culture and technical direction
This is the ideal role for a builder who thrives in intense, mission-driven environments and wants to help reshape how the physical world gets built.
