Assuming the role of a Bell Person means you will be the first point of contact for guests, ensuring their arrival experience is exemplary. You will need a natural ability to foster relationships, a commitment to delivering premier hospitality, and the capacity to communicate fluidly across departments.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome each guest with a warm smile, maintaining eye contact and personally escorting them to their rooms to ensure a personalized and luxurious arrival experience.
  • Exhibit unwavering courtesy and grace, maintaining a professional demeanor at all times, reflecting the highest standards of hospitality.
  • Uphold impeccable standards of personal appearance and grooming, adhering to the prescribed dress code to exude elegance and sophistication.
  • Communicate and collaborate with colleagues and departments to maintain a cohesive and collaborative work environment.
  • Handle all guest interactions with the utmost professionalism, accommodating special requests, resolving complaints, and providing assistance with inquiries related to hotel services, events, and amenities.
  • Open vehicle and property doors for guests and employees, greet all guests passing through the lobby, and offer assistance as needed.
  • Provide guests with comprehensive room orientation during escort to their rooms, demonstrating genuine interest and anticipatory service.
  • Handle and tag guest luggage, deliver luggage to rooms upon check‑in, and arrange for luggage pick‑up upon departure, ensuring meticulous record‑keeping.
  • Maintain front office and lobby appearance to impeccable standards, creating a pristine and welcoming environment throughout your shift.
  • Coordinate guest relocations when necessary to ensure seamless transitions and continued satisfaction.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, including accepting dry cleaning, delivering laundry, mail, or sundry items to guest rooms, running errands, and responding to special requests promptly.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in fire and safety procedures, providing assistance to guests and employees in emergencies.
  • Participate in scheduled departmental meetings and adhere to all standards of operations, policies, procedures, and safety protocols outlined by the hotel.
  • Maintain familiarity with all safety and emergency procedures, including OSHA requirements, and attend relevant meetings to stay informed.

Required Experience

  • Previous experience as a Bellman or in a similar guest service role, preferably in a luxury hotel or upscale hospitality environment.
  • Excellent reading, writing, and oral proficiency in English.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Internet, and hotel programs such as Property Management Systems.
  • Excellent organizational skills, exceptional attention to detail, and ability to multitask effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Capacity to handle a large volume of guest interactions efficiently and courteously.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and contribute positively as a team player.

Working Conditions / Environment

  • Stand, walk, push, kneel, bend, balance, squat, reach, and stretch for eight hours per day.
  • Execute fast‑paced movements efficiently across various areas of the property.
  • Move, pull, carry, or lift objects weighing at least 50 pounds.
