We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to strengthen our adhesive manufacturing and operation capabilities for our West Jefferson facility. This role is essential in achieving our manufacturing transformation in the US and worldwide. This role requires engineering, design, root cause analysis and strategic planning skills. This is a key role for our operations and will have a big impact on our results.
The ideal candidate is someone who takes initiative, builds high performing culture and demonstrates design and technical leadership for our manufacturing environment. They are someone who can work hands‑on in the details while aligning work to the big picture and business strategy. This candidate knows how to get strong buy‑in from people when leading change initiatives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee preventative maintenance programs, processes and scheduling for adhesive manufacturing equipment and production facilities at the West Jefferson site
Develop short and long‑term maintenance or capital expenditure plans prioritized to the business strategy
Lead investigation of production equipment issues, define root causes and implement countermeasures
Work with equipment manufacturers to design new or optimize existing adhesive manufacturing equipment
Optimize production capacity and reliability of existing production equipment
Develop maintenance staff and ensure machine operators have the knowledge to optimize production runs
Collaborate with equipment partners or component suppliers to resolve recurring production issues
Create the business case and ROI for new investments in capital expenditures
Collaborate with the Production Operations Manager to develop high performance culture
Improve the digitalization of machinery and develop production data sets
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical)
Minimum 4 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing/production environment
Demonstrated leadership experience with teams in a manufacturing environment
Ability to create and understand mechanical drawings and schematics in common 2D/3D software programs
Demonstrated success in troubleshooting process, mechanical and PLC systems
Demonstrated success in designing components, parts and equipment for construction by supporting suppliers
Strong working knowledge of electrical and digital systems, robotics experience is preferred
Experience with purchasing capital equipment and supporting production start‑up
Demonstrated ability to create value by aligning manufacturing to the business strategy
Familiarity with 5S, lean, six sigma
Leads people well below, across and above throughout the organization
Ability to author high quality technical protocols/reports (Engineering Studies, Validation protocols, summary reports, equipment specifications, and SOPs)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
REPORTING LINE & WORK ENVIRONMENT
Reports to: Director of Supply Chain
Team Structure: There are 2 direct reports with the potential for more.
Work Schedule: Full workdays following company regulations.
Work Location: Onsite at the West Jefferson, Ohio facility; remote work is not available.
Must be able to work in office and manufacturing environment. Some travel may be required.
Physically able to work on, around and under adhesive machinery in a manufacturing environment.
Able to wear PPE and follow safety procedures while working with chemicals and adhesives.
Able to work with hand/power tools, automation equipment, testing instruments.
Must be able to read documents in Standard English such as Standard Operating Procedures, maintenance schedules and operating manuals.
