Salary Information
Level I: $11,002.00 Monthly
Level II: $12,656.75 Monthly
Level III: $11,452.67 – $13,921.75 Monthly
Level IV Range A: $13,389.33 – $16,274.25 Monthly
Level IV Range B: $14,628.17 – $17,779.33 Monthly
Prerequisites
Membership in the California State Bar.
Provide California State Bar license number and date of issue on application.
Failure to provide the required documentation results in disqualification.
Job Duties Under direction, performs legal work in the County Counsel's Office by advising county departments, special districts, and other outside agencies; represents the county on litigation and business matters; and performs other related duties.
Level Requirements
Level I:
No previous legal experience. Assigned a variety of less difficult assignments under close supervision. Entry or trainee level for civil attorneys.
Level II:
At least one year in practice of law. Works in all phases of civil law of average difficulty under general supervision. Full journeyman.
Level III:
At least one year as Attorney-Civil Level II in Sacramento County service or three years of practice of law. Handles difficult and complex civil law assignments under minimum direction. Advanced journeyman.
Level IV:
At least four years in practice of civil law within California, with at least three years in a County Counsel's Office or equivalent public agency. Handles difficult and complex civil law assignments under minimum direction. Advanced journeyman.
