Our office is looking for an experienced Senior Drainage Engineer. If you have at least 8+ years of drainage experience and possess, or have the potential to obtain, your North Carolina PE License, this could be your opportunity. The position is eligible for a sign‑on bonus.

Your Primary Responsibilities

Provide engineering analysis and design of stormwater management solutions for transportation projects.

Oversee and manage design and production of construction details, plans, specifications, and estimates.

Collaborate with clients, subconsultants, technical staff, and managers across multiple disciplines to develop quality deliverables within schedule and budgetary requirements.

Direct and mentor less‑experienced support staff.

Conduct engineering investigations and planning work by completing well‑defined tasks, including collection and analysis of data, performing routine calculations, and evaluating the feasibility of alternate solutions.

Support business development efforts, including proposal pursuit activities.

Help build relationships with key staff of clients, potential clients, teaming partners, and contractors.

What you’ll need

Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.

Must have Professional Engineering Registration with the State.

8+ years of relevant, progressive transportation design experience.

Drainage experience.

Demonstrated knowledge and application of DOT design standards and specifications.

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.

Strong sense of urgency and self‑initiative to meet client deadlines.

Detail‑oriented team player with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment.

Valid driver’s license with an approved driving history.
