Entry Level Traffic Engineer This full‑time opportunity is located in Dayton or Cleveland, Ohio, and is designed for a recent graduate or early‑career professional who is excited to launch their engineering career in a collaborative, mission‑driven environment.
Pay:
$65,000 - $85,000/year based upon experience, certifications, and regional market standards.

Essential Functions
Technical engineering responsibilities:
Traffic impact studies
Traffic operations analyses
Safety studies
Signal system design
Signal timing plans
Maintenance of traffic
Pavement markings and signage
Highway lighting design
Corridor studies
Assist in the preparation of traffic engineering designs and plans for transportation projects.
Stay up to date on transportation engineering guidelines, standards, and regulations to ensure compliance in project designs.
Work collaboratively with other traffic and transportation/civil engineers.
Identify project issues and facilitate resolution.
Additional Responsibilities & Duties
Analyze situations and identify ways to improve efficiency.
React quickly and calmly to high‑pressure situations.
Work independently and collaboratively in team settings.
Occasionally visit work sites, monitor project progress and report findings.
Meet all safety requirements if/when visiting a work site.
Occasional travel may be required.
Other duties as assigned.
Education & Credentials
Required:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.
Preferred:
EIT Certification.
Qualifications
Required experience:
1-3 years.
Technical skills:
Experience with Synchro/SimTraffic, HCS, SIDRA, TransModeler, VISSIM, AutoCAD/MicroStation/Geopak/Open Roads Designer, and Microsoft Office.
Knowledge of the Highway Capacity Manual and Congestion Management Guidelines.
Preferred skills:
Experience with Travel Demand Modeling Software (TransCAD, CUBE), ArcGIS, SignCAD.
