Construction Estimator AECOM Hunt has an immediate opportunity for a Construction Estimator for our Los Angeles office.

Duties

Works with the Company estimating systems and processes.

Acquire basic level of understanding of estimating terminology, measures, concepts and principles for preparing estimates.

Recognizes how various processes / project actions and assumptions may impact estimates.

Under supervision prepares bid packages, conceptual estimates and analysis of subcontractor bids, etc. for projects.

Performs duties with limited complexity under direct supervision, such as material take offs, compilation of historical data, etc.

Expected to assist in the preparation of larger and more complex estimating assignments including the Estimate Plan.

Minimum Requirements

BS / BA Construction Management, Finance, Engineering or related curriculum and 2 years of construction estimating experience or demonstrated equivalent of education / experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior construction experience in estimating the probable cost of materials, labor, equipment, off project based on drawings, specifications, and client requirements.

Experience in developing conceptual estimates.

Experience in high-rise, hospitality, sports / stadium, airport estimating.

Experience in quantity takeoffs to determine the necessary amount of materials for a project.

Prior estimation negotiation experience.

Experience in risk assessment inclusive of market changes, unforeseen conditions and appropriate contingencies.

Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook).

Exposure to Bluebeam Revu, Takeoff or other estimation software.
