As an Operational Excellence Engineer, you will drive year-over-year improvements in cost and productivity, translating company initiatives into action for the Operations function and implementing key KPIs related to cost, maintenance, automation, and reliability. Essential Functions and Requirements

Prioritize health and safety by adhering to policies and maintaining safe practices at all times. Review practices, workflows, and systems to identify opportunities for waste elimination and process improvement. Design, develop, and implement solutions to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs, updating documentation and workflows. Drive improvement projects across departments using standardized OPEX tools and methods to enhance performance and maximize EBITDA. Facilitate change management by engaging cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and training employees at all levels. Incorporate data analysis and lean manufacturing methodologies to investigate issues and performance drivers. Drive knowledge exchange with technology experts, consulting groups, and sister plants to increase awareness of improvement opportunities. Encourage innovative thinking and explore new technologies or methodologies to enhance operational excellence. Train and coach employees on operational excellence principles and methodologies. Monitor the effectiveness of implemented initiatives and adjust as necessary. Create and present reports on FPP initiatives and their impact to leadership. Utilize project management principles to complete oversight and management of capital, plant, and cost reduction projects. Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for process-related concerns. Reduce the use of assumptions and expand use of support data for effective decision making. Maintain the ability to travel up to 30% as needed. Takes on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization. Education

Bachelor’s degree in engineering (required). Six Sigma Black Belt certification (preferred). Experience

10+ years of proven experience in engineering, maintenance, reliability, project management, Six Sigma/LEAN, productivity or continuous improvement roles (required). Competencies

Results oriented with the ability to gather, analyze, and interpret information. Ability to translate details into a big‑picture organizational perspective. Ability to develop and track KPIs for operational excellence initiatives. Strong problem‑solving skills with a data‑driven approach. Strong attention to detail and precision in analyzing data and documenting results. Excellent leadership and team management skills. Proficiency in PowerBI, Visio, Microsoft Office Suite, data analysis software (e.g., Minitab, Excel), ERP systems, and knowledge of SPC.
