Mechanical Design Engineer – Precision Instruments
Location: Houston, Texas
Base pay range: $110,000.00/yr - $140,000.00/yr

Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and refine mechanical mechanisms and assemblies involving small moving parts.
Manage the full product lifecycle – from concept, prototyping, and testing through to design transfer and commercialization.
Work closely with cross‑functional teams including manufacturing, quality, and regulatory.
Apply sound engineering principles and problem‑solving to optimize product performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
Support documentation, risk analysis, and validation activities.
Required Experience & Skills
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
Proven experience designing mechanisms or moving mechanical systems (e.g., instruments, tools, robotics, automotive components, or similar).
Demonstrated ability to bring a design from concept to market release.
Strong 3D CAD skills (SolidWorks or similar) and familiarity with design‑for‑manufacture principles.
Experience working in a regulated industry (medical device, aerospace, or similar).
Exposure to FDA, ISO, or other regulatory standards.
Understanding of DFMEA, DFM/DFA, or risk management tools.
