Full-Time Environmental Aide I (Housekeeping) – Chilton Medical Center Required hours: 3:00 PM ‑ 11:00 PM, including alternating weekends. Starting rate: $18.50 /hr.

Essential Responsibilities

Utilizes appropriate cleaning equipment in cleaning all nursing units, patients' rooms and all other designated facility areas, including the floors, woodwork, sills, vents, sinks, furniture etc.

Follows the department's policies and procedures on cleaning, disinfecting and deodorization.

Cleans up major spills when necessary and responds to pages in a timely manner.

Cleans and restocks housekeeping carts at the end of each shift.

Removes all trash and linen within the hospital.

Follows directions carefully for cleaning solution preparations and handling of bio-hazard materials.

Makes periodic checks for environmental needs in the assigned area.

Reports any repairs to maintenance.

Keeps abreast of changes in environmental services by attending monthly department meetings.

Handles moderately complex issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.

EVS Aide will also need to work at Union Campus.

Position includes cleaning of bodily fluids.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

HS Diploma or GED/Equivalent required or will obtain within 1 year of employment.

All candidates must be able to read, write and speak English.

Solid work history a must.

Fit testing requirement must be met.

Must be able to lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs.

Relevant Experience

Prior experience in housekeeping in a hospital or institutional setting or a related field preferred.

Prior floor-care experience preferred.

Job Information

Minimum Salary (Hourly Rate): $18.50

Maximum Salary (Hourly Rate): $27.58

Assignment Category: Full-time

Environmental Services is responsible for the cleaning and disinfection of common areas, outpatient areas, procedural areas, and patient rooms, including bathrooms, furniture, carpet/hard surface floors, vents, electronics and patient equipment.
