Position: Analyst, Private Equity – New York Northleaf is offering this opportunity to gain experience with a leading private equity secondary, primary, and direct investment/co‑investment team. The successful candidate will work with senior investment professionals on all private equity strategies, supporting the investment process from screening to due diligence and portfolio monitoring.
Day To Day, Your Role May Include
Develop financial models to analyze secondaries and co‑investment opportunities, including assumption testing and sensitivity analysis.
Perform in‑depth valuation analyses of private equity portfolios and private companies.
Assist with the preparation of due diligence materials and investment committee memos.
Conduct due diligence on private equity funds and company opportunities, including industry, company, and manager research.
Meet regularly with lead sponsors, company management, and partners to review performance, strategy, outlook, and industry issues.
Support monitoring and valuation of portfolio investments.
Contribute to ongoing business‑building initiatives such as deal origination, deal flow management, and portfolio/risk‑management tools.
Liaise with internal colleagues, external fund managers, and investors to support investment, marketing, and client‑service activities.
Qualifications
Excellent academic credentials; a Business, Economics, or Financial degree is preferred.
Strong technical foundation in corporate finance and accounting.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with extensive experience in financial modelling and valuation.
Result‑oriented, proactive, and creative problem solver.
Demonstrated experience in research and collaboration to develop solutions.
Strong judgment and critical‑thinking skills, with the ability to articulate and present ideas effectively.
Proven ability to multi‑task and maintain strong attention to detail.
Highly self‑motivated and self‑directed, with a proactive mindset.
Salary: USD 115,000 + benefits. Candidates with 1‑3 years of experience at a leading private equity, investment bank, accounting, or global management consulting firm are strongly preferred. Prior secondaries investment experience is an asset but not required.
Location: New York, New York.
