Job Description This position will participate in the month-end close process in a Corporate Accounting setting, where attention to detail and a strong work-ethic are essential for success. This position requires independent initiative and judgment to improve accounting processes, procedures and financial reporting.
This position in based in Dallas, TX at the Corporate Office Monday - Friday.
Responsibilities
Conduct month end close processes
Prepare and review of complex journal entries
Record and analyze allocation of Corporate expenses to hotels
Oversee the internal billing process with the hotels
Compile, analyze, interpret and present financial information to Corporate departments
Participate in monthly meetings with Corporate departments to assist with the review and explanation of variances between financial performance and budget/forecast
Coordinate and resolve accounting issues with Corporate departments or hotels
Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis
Ensure financials are recorded in accordance with GAAP
Work closely with management to identify process improvement needs and then take a leadership role in implementing recommendations
Support the management financial reporting process and special projects as required
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
Minimum of 3 years of experience directly related to duties and responsibilities specified
Candidate must be a deadline focused, organized, detail oriented, self-starter and able to work in a fast-paced environment
Excellent analytical and communication (written and verbal) skills
Advanced Excel skills and strong overall PC proficiency are a must
Experience with Oracle and Dayforce financial systems are a strong plus.
