Robotics Software Engineer – Humanoid Robotics Startup

An emerging robotics company is developing
rugged, multi-purpose humanoid robots
designed to perform real work in the world. The founding team has a proven track record in
humanoid robotics, bionics, and advanced product development —building technology that’s been to space, explored the ocean depths, and powered immersive experiences in the entertainment industry.
The Opportunity We’re looking for a
Robotics Software Engineer
to join the inaugural engineering team and help shape the core software architecture of next‑generation humanoid robots. You’ll work hands‑on with perception, manipulation, and control systems to build a product that’s as capable as it is reliable.
What You’ll Do
Lead integration and optimization of complex robot subsystems.
Collaborate with specialists across perception, manipulation, and control.
Design and implement core software architecture and robot APIs.
Develop robust communication and data exchange protocols.
Contribute to advancing the safety and capability of humanoid robots in industrial environments.
What We’re Looking For
BS/MS/PhD in Robotics, Computer Science, or related field.
7+ years of experience (5+ with advanced degree) developing robotics software platforms.
Strong background in kinematics, dynamics, controls, estimation, and system identification.
Proficiency in
C++ ,
Python , and robotics middleware (e.g., ROS, LCM, DDS).
Deep understanding of operating systems and real‑time systems.
Bonus Points
Experience with software architecture and systems design.
Familiarity with embedded systems, RTOS, and simulation environments.
Knowledge of containerization (Docker) and CI/CD pipelines.
Prior startup or humanoid robotics experience.
