JOB TITLE Assistant Director, Student Success Center

JOB PURPOSE Serve as the leader of internal-facing operations of the College of Business Green Johnson Student Success Center, including overseeing the academic advising activities and mission of the Center.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Direct supervision of academic advisors employed by the GJSSC, including hiring, training, and evaluations, as well as unit budget allocation/expenditure responsibilities.

Manage, coordinate, develop, and implement a comprehensive advising program for College of Business students. Administer and achieve program goals and objectives.

Provide direct assistance to students through advising; conduct follow-up sessions as necessary.

Provide information to registered student organizations, classes, parents, and other constituents via workshops, orientations, and other formats as necessary. Write, edit, or select informational materials for academic advising. Provide training in the use of online resources; explain UW programs of study and available resources.

Serve as the college liaison and point of contact to the UW Office of the Registrar, Office of Student Financial Services, and Office of Institutional Analysis.

Serve as the liaison, and establish effective relationships, with students, faculty, department heads, deans, and others on- and off-campus, including community colleges and other Front Range colleges. Lead community college outreach efforts as the point of contact for the Transfer Relations Office, including but not limited to the articulation conference, summer meetings, and training with departments.

Develop new advising processes, identify best practices, conduct engagement sessions with faculty members as necessary to update processes.

Assist in College of Business enrollment management and student recruitment initiatives in collaboration with campus partners, high schools, and community colleges.

SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS

Some positions may provide training to campus staff, peer advisors and/or interns in advising functions.

Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Attend and participate in trainings and other professional development activity.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree

3 years work-related experience in higher education

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Supervisory or mentorship experience overseeing professional staff, graduate assistants, or peer advisors.

Proficiency with university student information systems and advising tools (e.g., Banner, Navigate).

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, student-centered environment.
