Field Installation Technician- Fueling Stations
OPAL Fuels (Nasdaq: OPAL) is a leader in the capture and conversion of biogas into low carbon intensity RNG and renewable electricity, and in the marketing and distribution of RNG to heavy duty trucking and other hard-to-decarbonize industrial sectors.
About the Position This role assists the Superintendent in building CNG Fueling Stations. As a Field Installation Technician you can expect to be on the road at outdoor construction sites, traveling approximately 75% domestically to stations.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assist in setting up the job site and container
Read plans
Build racks for gas piping and tubing
Support welders
Install stainless steel tubing systems
Conduct pressure tests
Manage miscellaneous tasks related to concrete work
Operate forklift and man lift
Follow and enforce safety protocols
Maintain OSHA 30-hour class and attend monthly safety classes
Travel 75% domestically; this role can be based from anywhere in the US with access to an airport
Other duties as required
Qualifications and Skills
Minimum of three years’ experience in construction or similar field
Minimum of three years of hands‑on electrical/mechanical experience
High school diploma or equivalent
Hands‑on general construction skills
Good communication skills and attention to detail
Ability to lift 60 lbs.
Experience with power tools and measurement calculations
Experience operating forklift and man lift
Knowledge of construction technology and materials preferred
Ability to manage travel plans (e.g., Concur)
Knowledge of Microsoft Office
Experience with tube or conduit bending preferred
Engine mechanical skills preferred
Valid driver’s license without restrictions
Work hours: Monday – Friday, 1st shift (40 hrs); hours may fluctuate based on customer demand
Physical Requirements Moderate lifting (30‑60 lbs.), occasional walking on irregular surfaces, wrist and arm movements, and use of hand tools and motorized vehicles. Ability to connect/disconnect valves, hoses, gauging instruments, and wires. Reasonable accommodation may be made for individuals with disabilities.
Job Type Full‑time
Pay Hourly rate $26.00 – $32.00 with potential bonus for eligible positions. Compensation will be based on experience, skills, qualifications, market and business considerations, and geographic location.
