Investment Analyst (Financials/Regional Banks)

to join their Long/Short equity team. The firm is known for its data‑driven investment process, combining deep fundamental research with advanced analytics and technology.

Job Description As a Financials Analyst, you'll focus on identifying investment opportunities across the

Regional Banking

space. Coverage will include community banks, super‑regionals, and select financial services firms with banking exposure. You'll work closely with the Financials sector lead to generate high‑conviction, actionable ideas using your buy‑side experience and sector expertise.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of bank balance sheets, interest rate sensitivity, credit quality, regulatory dynamics, and competitive positioning. Experience in fundamental long/short equity research and presenting to PMs is essential. A passion for the financials sector and a track record of driving alpha are key.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct deep‑dived research and financial analysis on regional and community banks.

Monitor industry trends, interest rate movements, regulatory changes, and macroeconomic indicators.

Build and maintain detailed financial models, including NIM, loan growth, credit metrics, and capital ratios.

Present investment ideas and insights to the investment committee.

Collaborate with other analysts and portfolio managers to align on sector strategy.

Leverage alternative data and technology tools to enhance research depth and accuracy.

Stay current on earnings, regulatory developments, and competitive landscape.

Qualifications

4+ years of total experience in equity research, with at least 2 years on the buy‑side.

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.

Strong understanding of the Regional Banking sector and broader Financials landscape.

Proven ability to generate differentiated investment ideas.

Excellent modeling, analytical, and communication skills.

Interest in applying alternative data and tech‑driven insights to investment research.

Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
