Inland Marine Underwriter – Atlanta, GA
FinTrust Connect has partnered with a leading specialty insurance provider that is seeking a senior-level Inland Marine Underwriter with deep expertise in Builder’s Risk and associated inland marine coverages. This is an exciting opportunity to support a high-growth commercial lines portfolio within a dynamic underwriting environment.

Lead underwriting efforts for Builder’s Risk and inland marine accounts, while mentoring peers and supporting agency relationships
Requirements
7+ years of commercial underwriting experience, including Builder’s Risk and Inland Marine
Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred
Professional designations (AMIM, CPCU, CIC, or ARM) strongly valued
Familiarity with ISO forms, contractor’s equipment, installation floaters, and transportation risks
Experience with underwriting platforms like Salesforce, Perceptive Concept, or AS400
Description
Underwrite and evaluate new and renewal accounts across inland marine lines, including Builder’s Risk, property in transit, and warehousing
Apply appropriate pricing and coverage terms based on risk characteristics, guidelines, and market conditions
Collaborate with Product, Loss Control, and Underwriting Assistants to ensure underwriting accuracy
Maintain strong agency relationships and lead regular meetings (virtual and in-person) to promote growth and submission quality
Contribute to the development of underwriting training materials and best practices
Support internal teams through mentorship and knowledge sharing
Monitor market trends and regulatory changes affecting inland marine insurance
Location & Travel
Remote role for candidates based in Atlanta, GA.
Up to 50% in-state travel to agencies.
Quarterly visits to headquarters in St. Petersburg, FL.
