Goodwin is a leading law firm serving clients in life sciences, private equity, real estate, technology, and financial industries. Join the Global Operations Team to support attorneys and clients with high‑stakes litigation, regulatory compliance, and complex transactions.

Responsibilities

Review, analyse and manage client engagement and waiver documentation to ensure compliance with firm policies.

Flag, escalate and resolve non‑compliance issues with Department administrators and the Office of General Counsel.

Communicate with partners and secretaries to advise on required revisions and follow up for timely resolution.

Assist in drafting engagement and waiver letters.

Analyse conflicting engagement terms for clients and work with administrators and partners to resolve issues.

Monitor, research and troubleshoot outstanding WIP; communicate with firm personnel to ensure policy compliance and timely matter opening and billing.

Code engagement documentation and waivers in Intapp, documenting all approvals and issue resolution.

Maintain engagement and waiver documentation to meet risk‑management requirements and comprehensive record‑keeping.

Prepare annual engagement‑letter audit for the Office of General Counsel.

Assist Department Manager with design, testing and rollout of software enhancements.

Conduct legal research on conflict‑of‑interest and develop conflict‑resolution strategies.

Create and analyse complex conflict reports; exercise independent judgment to identify potential conflicts.

Prepare communications to attorneys and coordinate resolution with the Ethics Advisory Committee.

Provide guidance to Conflicts staff on research, analysis and corporate family‑tree research.

Develop and implement training programs for Conflict Analysts and Specialists.

Research jurisdictional conflict rules and ethical opinions for specific resolution strategies.

Maintain supporting documentation for clearing actual or potential conflicts.

Implement ethical walls as needed.

Participate in on‑call rotations for conflict checking and analysis on scheduled weekends.

Stay current on trends, developments and new technologies affecting the Business Intake and Conflicts group.

Qualifications

JD degree required.

Prior experience using automated conflict and/or workflow systems preferred.

Minimum 3 years of experience in law‑firm conflicts or new‑business department preferred.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; strong customer‑service orientation.

Strong research, analytical and problem‑solving skills; meticulous attention to detail.

Ability to organise and prioritise multiple assignments in a fast‑paced environment.

Strong independence with timely escalation and communication of issues.

Knowledge of INTapp conflict checking, ethical wall and business intake software a plus.

Standard office hours; occasional extra hours on evenings/weekends.
