Only the franchisee is responsible for employment matters at the restaurant, including hiring, firing, discipline, supervision, staffing, and scheduling employees. The General Manager is responsible for running a profitable restaurant and for ensuring the restaurant meets McDonald’s critical customer standards of Quality, Service, and Cleanliness. The General Manager works with their leader to set the restaurant’s goals and creates a plan to achieve those goals. The General Manager leads a team of Department Managers, helping them set and meet their own goals, and provides coaching and direction to improve their departments. The General Manager may also be responsible for hiring and developing Department and Shift Managers to ensure the restaurant has the right team to lead into the future.

Qualifications

Previous General Manager experience running high‑volume locations.

Background in quick‑service restaurants, hospitality, or retail strongly desired.

Must be 18 years or older to be a manager in corporate owned and operated restaurants.
