Senior Corporate Counsel Job Summary
As our Corporate Counsel, you'll be a strategic partner in our mission of resource preservation and environmental sustainability. You'll collaborate with cross‑functional teams to provide commercially minded, high‑quality legal services, draft and negotiate contracts, manage litigation, advise on regulatory issues, and support project management to ensure compliance and mitigate legal risks. Key Responsibilities
Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts (customer and supplier agreements, procurement contracts, MOUs, confidentiality agreements, etc.). Manage disputes and claims, including change orders, design defects, breach of contract issues, arbitration, and mediation processes. Provide project‑management support for contract negotiation, execution and legal issue resolution. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to develop and implement risk mitigation strategies. Offer commercially minded, timely legal advice on a full spectrum of legal matters. Represent the company in legal proceedings and negotiations with external parties. Maintain relationships with external counsel and support continuous improvement of legal operations. Design and deliver legal training for the business. Conduct legal research and analysis of relevant laws and regulations. Key Hard Skills
Outstanding negotiation, drafting, and analytical skills. Good knowledge of dispute‑resolution mechanisms. Strong business acumen and judgement; ability to explain complex legal matters to non‑legal audiences. High integrity, excellent analytical skills, and rigorous attention to detail. Experience with environmental compliance and/or government contracts (FAR/DFARS) is highly desirable. Key Soft Skills
Experience working across cultures and in matrixed, global environments. Strong interpersonal, presentation, negotiation, and influencing skills. Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment and manage competing priorities. Team player with project‑management capabilities. Qualifications
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree. 5–8 years of commercial law experience, with at least 3 years in an in‑house counsel role. Commercial negotiation and transactional experience. Licensed to practice law; bar member in good standing. Nice to Have
Proficiency in French or Spanish. Prior experience in water technologies or engineering sector. Location & Work Arrangement
This hybrid role can be based in any of the following locations: Leonia, NJ Trevose, PA Minnetonka, MN Richmond, VA Boulder, CO Plainfield, IL The role requires onsite presence 3 days per week, with remote work 2 days per week. Compensation
Salary range: $123,000 – $150,000 per year, plus a 10% annual incentive plan bonus and potential additional perks based on market, skills, and experience. Benefits
