Position Summary The Director is accountable for shaping health care policy to benefit patient access, affordability, and innovation. The Director will initiate and execute comprehensive strategies around policy proposals in Washington, supporting BMS Enterprise priorities, and implement outreach with U.S. Congress members aligned with BMS’ patient‑focused principles.

Key Responsibilities

Represent BMS before the U.S. Congress, primarily with Senate Democrats.

Collaborate with internal business partners to align on Enterprise goals.

Maintain relationships with Members of Congress and staff to advance BMS objectives.

Develop and implement strategies addressing regulatory, legislative, and policy issues.

Engage external groups to influence internal decisions and align with BMS goals.

Execute tactics related to the company’s PAC focused on political giving strategy.

Provide updates and presentations to internal colleagues on Washington developments.

Manage federal engagement by BMS consultants.

Additional duties as necessary to support USPGA.

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum of 8 years experience or service on Capitol Hill or relevant private sector professional experience.

Excellent verbal, analytical, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Excellent organizational and project management skills.

Experience working with stakeholders, including trade associations and coalitions.

Ability to maintain good working relationships internally and externally.

Travel as required.

Compensation Overview Washington DC – US $206,210 - $249,878
