Miller & Company is a fast-growing CPA firm based in Whitestone, Queens, and we're looking to expand our team! We're seeking a dynamic, highly-skilled Senior Accountant for our brand new Syosset office who is eager to make a significant impact and help drive the firm's growth. Key Responsibilities

Prepare and file complex, multistate tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and fiduciaries (trusts and estates).

Manage payroll and sales tax filings, including issuing 1099 forms.

Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements for clients.

Conduct detailed audits to ensure the accuracy of financial records.

Handle and respond to notices from the IRS and other taxing authorities.

Provide research and resolution for client tax inquiries.

Oversee and regularly monitor bookkeeping and account reconciliation processes.

Reconcile accounts using QuickBooks Desktop (QB) and QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Be prepared to work extended hours during tax season to meet deadlines.

The ideal candidate will possess:

5-7 years of professional experience in public accounting (CPA firm).

Must have payroll and sales tax experience.

A bachelor's degree in accounting (BS/BA) is a plus.

CPA certification is a plus.

A highly motivated, ethical, proactive approach to work.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

In-depth knowledge of bookkeeping, taxation, auditing, and budgeting processes.

Excellent analytical skills and keen attention to detail.

Proficiency with MS Office and QuickBooks; familiarity with UltraTax and other Thomson Reuters software is a plus.
