Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour + monthly bonus
Job Description The Loss Mitigation Specialist will be responsible for educating borrowers on CMS’ Loss Mitigation alternatives with the objective of retaining home ownership and avoiding foreclosure, including Loan Modifications, Partial Claims, Repayment Plans, Forbearances, and Reinstatements. All duties will be performed in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures, U.S. state and federal laws, and regulations where the company operates.
What You’ll Do
Handle inbound calls routed through IVR and internal transfers to determine borrowers’ intent to retain property and discuss foreclosure alternatives.
Make outbound calls on assigned loans to follow up on signed trial agreements, repayment agreements, and final loan modification documents.
Communicate approval or denial of a loss‑mitigation workout option and address general account‐information questions.
Review borrowers’ financial hardship documentation to determine the appropriate work‑out option.
Engage borrowers in denial cases to discuss loss‑mitigation liquidation options and route them to the liquidation team.
Provide information related to Title issues that may impede finalization of a modification.
Maintain consistent attendance to ensure fulfillment of essential duties.
Explain available options for resolving delinquency or impending default, required borrower actions, timing, and status updates.
Notify the Intake team of potential intake errors involving missing or unacceptable documents.
Stay knowledgeable about the borrower’s status throughout the delinquency or imminent default resolution process.
Assist borrowers who request to escalated complaints or disputes, contacting the servicer’s Escalated Cases staff and providing MHA Help contact information when requested.
Perform other duties as assigned.
What You’ll Need
One (1) or more years of experience in collections, loss mitigation, or mortgage servicing call center.
Full State NMLS licensing required within 6 months of starting this role.
Knowledge of mortgage industry terminology preferred.
Working knowledge of government program requirements and timelines (FHA, VA, USDA, FNMA, FHLMC).
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
