We have a position currently available for Plant Controller in Batavia, OH, reporting to the Plant Manager, and operating as part of the broader Huhtamaki Finance team. This leadership position will work with the rest of the Plant management team to develop and execute on the financial operational goals for the Plant. This role requires a strong knowledge of cost models and analysis within a manufacturing environment. At Huhtamaki North America, we have a centralized finance team in our North America headquarters near Kansas City who are responsible for the more traditional accounting activities - AP payments, AR billing and collections, processing payroll, and financial reporting. This focuses our Plant Controllers on all things operations and providing valuable insights to the plant management team.

About the Job

Essential Functions:

Provide financial analysis, support, and reporting of costs for the manufacturing and distribution facility in Batavia, OH. Develop forecasts to estimate the future cost impact of strategic decisions. Prepare timely and accurate operations reports to the management team that provide useful information. Provide financial leadership for the site through assisting and supporting the plant manager and management team in the areas of finance such as, inventory accounting, cost accounting, capital spending, budgeting, and forecasting. Develop and achieve the Operating Budget for the site by providing direction to the managers of the various departments. Database administration and process improvement management by collaborating with managers to identify ways to reduce cost and improve productivity--administer Bills of Material, Work Center Routings and develop Standard Costs. Lead Cost quoting process for the products manufactured within the plant. Develop and maintain cost information, which can be used to guide decisions to support the plant's goals, objectives, and strategies. Perform cost variance analysis and work with Operations team to understand what is driving performance. Facilitate month end close of relevant operations accounts and subsequent analysis of performance results. Support facility success in reaching productivity goals. Prepare and communicate relevant data regarding manufacturing performance trends. Prepare and monitor Operational Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Monitor internal controls related to inventory flow through the facility. Apply for state and local incentives and manage the tracking and reporting of these incentives. Complete local, state, and federal reporting requirements for the facility. Participate in continuous improvement projects as champion, process owner, finance expert, or team member. Perform monthly SQF and safety audits and document findings and corrective actions. Facilitate capital project portfolio and budgeting process including tracking, monitoring and communicate capital expenditures. Responsible for all raw material, WIP and finished goods inventory of the facility ($40 million+) Supervise a team of 4-5 direct reports and 8-10 indirect reports (warehouse) Responsible for the receiving and warehousing functions

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Required

Have prior experience as a Controller or Finance Manager of a manufacturing site.

Have a strong knowledge of cost models and analysis.

Possess strong analytical, quantitative, problem solving, technical and communication skills.

Effective communication skills supporting effective interfacing with all levels of employees and third parties, including vendors and customers.

Preferred

Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting or Finance, Master's degree desirable.

CPA or CMA desirable

Experience with ERP systems, Business Intelligence, Excel, and other financial programs

Prior supervisory/management experience in a manufacturing environment of at least 5 or more years.
