Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center (NHNHRMC) offers a full‑time Acute Care Surgeon role. The position involves clinical duties in Emergency General Surgery, Trauma, and Surgical Critical Care, with opportunities in research, education, and quality improvement. Our division, supported by seven faculty, residents, and advanced practice providers, performs approximately 3,800 trauma cases annually and similar volume of EGS patients. The hospital is an 800‑bed not‑for‑profit regional referral and teaching center affiliated with UNC School of Medicine and is an ACS‑verified Level II trauma center transitioning to Level I.

What You’ll Do
Provide comprehensive care in Trauma, Emergency General Surgery, and Surgical Critical Care
Participate in the education of general surgery residents and medical students
Engage in quality improvement initiatives and system‑based practice enhancements
Contribute to research and academic productivity within the division
Collaborate with other surgical subspecialties including MIS/Bariatrics, Colorectal, and Surgical Oncology
What We’re Looking For
MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
Board‑certified or board‑eligible in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care
Eligible for North Carolina medical licensure
Demonstrated interest in teaching, research, and quality improvement
Experience with rib plating and/or robotics preferred but not required
Employment type: Full‑time
Seniority level: Mid‑Senior level
