Laveer Engineering
Designer I – Contract 4‑6 Months
Location: Maple Grove, MN (Hybrid, 3 days in office). Mileage reimbursed when traveling.
Overview:
Designers will work closely with both internal and external stakeholders in office and field environments.
Your Day-to-Day Designers will work closely with both internal and external stakeholders both in an office and field environment.
Responsibilities
Creates, updates and revises sketches, working drawings and contract documents using Computer Assisted Design (CAD) software or manual drafting to meet customer requirements.
Prepares 2D and 3D models.
Must be able to read and comprehend detailed customer requirements, data sheets and supplier specifications.
Assignments will be completed utilizing information provided by project engineering, architectural, or technical services staff under the direction of a supervisor.
Requires familiarity with drafting techniques and engineering concepts and terminology.
Able to read engineering drawings and blueprints.
Prepare documentation to support design drawings.
Prepare bills of material, schedules, and assist engineering personnel with formal drawing transmittals and construction issues.
Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to ensure project success.
Review new project assignments.
Communicate with customers to gather project details.
Conduct site visits.
Design projects and submit for approval.
Coordinate with teams for project execution.
Who You Are
1+ year of customer‑facing experience.
Experience with GIS.
Valid driver’s license.
Understanding project management principles.
Knowledge of power utility operations.
