Lead MRI Technologist Full Time Days

Job Summary
Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, this role functions as a lead or resource person for personnel involved in MRI procedures while performing MRI technologist duties as required. The incumbent will coordinate workflow, delegate, oversee, and guide staff, resolve routine and complex problems, and ensure a safe and efficient department. Responsibilities include monitoring quantity and quality of work flow, ensuring prescribed diagnostic procedures are performed to department standards, providing input for performance appraisals and hiring decisions, scheduling and timekeeping for MRI technologists, taking call/standby as needed, and maintaining compliance with laws, government regulations, Joint Commission requirements, and DMC policies.
Minimum Qualifications
Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) or the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT).
Required to have or successfully complete American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BLS) training by end of orientation period.
Two or more years of progressively responsible MRI technologist work experience.
Skills Required
Analytical and clinical skills to determine the most appropriate method of providing requested radiographs based on patient’s physical ability and limitations.
Interpersonal and communication skills to effectively deal with and instruct patients under physical or emotional stress; ability to comprehend and follow physicians’ verbal and written requests and prescriptions; work effectively in a culturally diverse environment with diverse hospital personnel and patients.
Technical knowledge to operate equipment, including specialized equipment and computers.
Ability to work productively and effectively within a complex environment, handling multiple changing priorities.
Knowledge and understanding of American College of Radiology accreditation requirements.
Physical stamina for frequent walking, standing, lifting, and positioning of patients; ability to stand, bend, push, pull, reach, and lift in order to provide patient care.
Manual dexterity and visual acuity to operate and utilize all types of imaging equipment and supplies to produce images of acceptable diagnostic quality.
Additional Core Skills Required
Gather and interpret data to identify discrepancies, problems, or issues; seek advice when precedents are unclear or unavailable and determine methods for ensuring compliance with departmental policies and procedures.
Use appropriate discretion in communication and provide conflict resolution when necessary; diplomacy, tact, and listening skills are required.
Leadership skills including willingness to pursue leadership roles with increasing accountability, comfort with decision‑making responsibilities, coaching, teaching and counseling skills, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others while forging alliances and garnering support.
