Job Description

The Senior Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring equipment uptime through timely, in-depth troubleshooting and repair of all equipment failures. Acting as a subject matter expert, this role involves sharing knowledge of production equipment with the maintenance team and operators. The position focuses on injection molders, blow molders, fillers/cappers, labelers, case packers, conveyors, palletizers, and stretch wrappers. Additionally, the technician performs troubleshooting and repair of facilities and auxiliary equipment, including chillers, air compressors, and water filtration equipment. The Senior Maintenance Technician collaborates with technicians, operators, supervisors, and managers to resolve mechanical issues and develop best practices aligned with maintenance strategies. This includes implementing preventative and predictive maintenance processes, championing continuous improvement efforts, and assisting with training.

Responsibilities

Adhere to and enforce the highest standards in safety and good manufacturing practices plant-wide.

Train and lead operators, mechanics, and supervisors on technical procedures related to high-speed bottle manufacturing and packaging.

Work directly with plant leadership to develop and execute projects involving continuous improvement, upgrades, and resolution of recurring problems.

Rapidly identify machine problems to minimize equipment downtime with root cause analysis to prevent reoccurrence.

Partner with other Senior Maintenance Technicians to resolve cross-functional problems.

Utilize available software systems to analyze and identify issues to drive throughput performance.

Define requirements and lead overhaul efforts to rebuild equipment to like-new status during planned downtime.

Transfer knowledge to team members to develop operating and troubleshooting procedures in bottling production specialization.

Create SOPs for troubleshooting machines and upload them to the BDA system, ensuring machine reliability and mean time before failure.

Ensure regular and predictable attendance, as well as required on-call availability, to maintain equipment and facility uptime.

Essential Skills

6 years of experience in a maintenance manufacturing environment.

Proficiency in electrical troubleshooting, maintenance, and mechanical systems.

Experience with bottling or aseptic plant machinery such as Krones, Husky, Sidel, or similar equipment.

Skilled in the use of shop equipment like hydraulic and mechanical presses, bench grinder, drill press, mill and lathe, and assorted power tools.

Skilled in fabrication capabilities such as cutting and welding (mig, tig, or stick).

Experience with electrical systems including 480VAC & 24VDC power.

Proficiency in repairing variable frequency drives, servo motors and controllers, communication systems (asi-bus, can-bus, profi-bus, ethernet), PLC input/output cards, and safety modules.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Preferred 10+ years of experience in a maintenance manufacturing environment.

4 years of experience in blow molding, injection molding, packaging, or beverage fields.

4 years of experience with specific machinery brands like Krones, Husky, Sidel.

Work Environment

This is a brand new, climate-controlled, and automated water bottling facility in Temple, TX. The plant operates 24/7, and while the base shift is during the day, there is an on-call requirement. The facility is clean and quiet, with a family-like atmosphere, offering a pleasant and technologically advanced work environment.

This is a Permanent position based out of Temple, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $85280.00 - $104000.00/yr.
