About the role We are seeking an exceptionally talented individual to join our DMFI technology team as a Senior Software Engineer in our Front‑Office Technology Team. The team is tasked with building a real‑time Market Data Hub, real‑time P&L, Historical Market Data for pre‑trade analytics, a portal for web tools, and tech solutions for the investment staff. In addition, the role is responsible for integration with various front‑office vendor systems.

What you’ll do The Senior Software Engineer will work closely with the Head of Macro Technology to design, architect, develop, and deliver a market data/reference data platform and integrate with Monis, Intex, and Adroit at Schonfeld. You will participate in an Agile framework, continuously improving and expanding platform capabilities based on rapidly changing business requirements, and provide Level‑3 support across the globe. You will design, develop, debug, and deploy new functionality custom to the needs of our portfolio managers, keep an eye on scalability and optimization, and ensure the adoption of next‑generation technology when appropriate. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to solve problems and an interest in continuous improvement and learning.

What you’ll bring What you need:

At minimum, 5+ years of Java/Python development experience

Expertise in building real‑time market data services

Expertise in fixed income products – e.g. FX, interest rates, credit

Expertise with design and architecture of scalable services using Kubernetes

Experience leading strategic technical initiatives from start to finish

Expertise in building systems using Kafka (or similar messaging/streaming middleware)

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Strong ownership experience and a track record of delivering results

Experience and knowledge of the below applications is a plus

Convertible Bond specialized applications, e.g. Monis

Securitized Product and Mortgage specialized applications, e.g. Valitana, Polypath, Intex, Yieldbook

Fixed Income PMS, Coremont

Cloud services such as AWS

Compensation The base pay for this role is expected to be between $150,000 and $250,000. The expected base pay range is based on information at the time this post was generated. This role may also be eligible for other forms of compensation such as a performance bonus and a competitive benefits package. Actual compensation for the successful candidate will be determined based on a variety of factors such as skills, qualifications, and experience.
