To lead this transformation, we are hiring a strategically-minded and technically capable VP of Engineering. Role Summary: We’re looking for a startup-minded VP of Engineering to join our team. You’ll work closely with our CTO and the founding team to lead hands‑on development, build a world‑class engineering culture, and guide our product through its next evolution. You’ll bring the mindset of a founding engineer — someone who thrives in fast-moving environments, balances technical vision with execution, and loves turning early traction into a reliable, scalable product. This is a unique opportunity to help define the DNA of a high‑potential European SaaS startup at an early, formative stage. You will be joining a high‑growth startup on a 100% equity‑based compensation model, aligning your success directly with the company's. Key Responsibilities:

Lead engineering execution from MVP to a scalable SaaS platform Architect, code, and ship — setting the technical and cultural foundation for growth Partner with the CTO to define architecture, infrastructure, and delivery best practices Ability to define and execute the AI and R&D strategy for the proptech domain, leveraging globally available public data from judiciary auctions, legal, tax, and distressed real estate sources Work cross-functionally with product, data engineering, business development and design teams to deliver features that solve problems Build and mentor a small, high-performing engineering team Implement agile workflows, CI/CD, and modern cloud practices Drive reliability, scalability, and performance improvements Contribute to technical roadmapping and strategic planning Influence strategy around security, scalability, and observability Contribute to R&D grant planning and represent VendueTech in technical stakeholder meetings What we are looking for:

6–10 years experience of software engineering, including at least 5 years in early-stage startups Deep expertise in building and scaling SaaS products from 0→1 and beyond Experience of being an early technical hire or startup engineering leader Proficient in Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, React/Next.js, Docker, and AWS A pragmatic approach and able to iterate and prioritize learning and delivery Ability to think strategically but remain hands-on and deeply involved in execution Enjoy building teams, systems, and culture from the ground up Experience in proptech, marketplaces, or AI/ML-powered platforms would be an advantage Aggregated real estate auction data from 8 countries using Medalion architecture Awarded €600,000 Eurostars R&D grant (Sep 2025 – Feb 2028) Won 6 “Test Before Invest” R&D grants with FER and the European Digital Innovation Hub Launched MVP at https://beta.bidsale.eu Multiple European startup awards Built a global team of 40+ independent contributors Why Join Us?
