Job Description HII’s Mission Technologies division, specifically the Warfare Systems (WS) business group, is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to develop real-time software for hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) electronic warfare test systems. The role offers the opportunity to learn DSP, modeling and simulation, and advanced radar techniques while working closely with a highly technical team of engineers and scientists.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Design, develop, document, test, and debug application software and systems with logical and mathematical solutions.
Conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborate with equipment designers and hardware engineers in planning, design, development and utilization of electronic data processing systems.
Determine computer user needs, analyze system capabilities, resolve program intent, output requirements and input data acquisition, apply programming techniques and controls.
Prepare operating instructions, design and develop compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.
Ensure software standards are met.
Minimum Qualifications
9 years relevant experience with Bachelor’s degree, 7 years with Master’s, 4 years with PhD, or 13 years with high school diploma/equivalent.
Experience in C/C++ programming.
Experience with microcontrollers and embedded systems.
Experience with real‑time software development.
Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python.
Ability to design and develop real‑time software with minimal supervision.
Ability to work individually or in a large multidisciplinary team.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Desire and ability to learn new skills.
Minimum Secret clearance required to start.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with enhanced security checks.
Preferred Requirements
Experience with Linux in an embedded environment.
Experience with bare‑metal systems.
Experience with SoC devices.
Digital Signal Processing experience.
Experience with Matlab/Simulink.
Experience with LabVIEW.
Experience with lab equipment, including oscilloscopes and power supplies.
Experience with radar and/or other RF systems.
Physical Requirements Adequate visual acuity and manual dexterity for meeting the software engineer family requirements.
