Client: large biotech. Location: Fully Remote – EST or CST time zone preferred. Duration: through 2027.

Ideal candidate: 5+ years of hands‑on capital construction procurement experience, active as a member of capital project teams, with minimal travel (~5%) on high‑value projects. Ariba skills required; Scout and/or Sirion experience highly desired. Strong knowledge of contracting negotiations and execution.

Primary Responsibilities

Manage a portfolio of large capital projects ($500M+ each) and medium projects ($5M–$100M).

Support spend sub‑categories including Architectural and Engineering services, Construction Management services, Automation Integration services, Commissioning, Quality and Validation services, General Construction Contractor, and individual Construction Trade Services.

Execute and implement the sourcing strategy and purchasing needs of Client’s US‑based spend across the Operations organization.

Lead e‑sourcing (eRFX) for the Capital Construction and Capital Equipment Global Category Management (GCM) teams.

Act as Procurement Process and Systems expert, ensuring compliance with all relevant global sourcing policies and procedures, and participate as an integral member of Project Delivery teams.

Serve as Contracting lead: select appropriate contract template, negotiate terms, create contracts in Sirion, manage ongoing contract administration, and hand off to Contract‑to‑Pay teams.

Preferred Qualifications

Combination of sourcing, contracting, and project management experience.

Minimum 6 years hands‑on experience as a sourcing or procurement lead on multiple project delivery teams.

Broad knowledge of construction market forces, supplier base, legal and regulatory environment, and sources of competitive advantage.

Ensure procurement policies are followed and compliance metrics are met or exceeded, supported through supplier contracts published in Sirion.

Inform stakeholders on procurement policies and procedures, providing support and corrective actions where required.

Assist the overall Project Manager with all matters related to strategic sourcing and procurement as a vital member of project delivery teams.

Manage commercial relationships as liaison between project delivery teams and suppliers.

Develop and maintain a Project Sourcing Plan with the Project Manager as a “living document” throughout the project life cycle.

Lead selection of project delivery approach, contract strategy, and commercial price structure, including incentives and penalties.

Facilitate supplier selection process, whether competitively bid or single‑sourced.

Draft and ensure timely reviews and execution of all contract documents using Sirion.

Provide basic training on contract provisions to the project team and act as the source for contract interpretation and application during project execution.

Work with the Project Manager and Project Controls Manager to resolve contractor disputes, claims, and/or change orders.

Experience in construction within the pharmaceutical industry is a plus.
