Pay Base pay range:

$135,600.00/yr - $226,100.00/yr

Position open to candidates in San Francisco (CA), Phoenix (AZ), Scottsdale (AZ), Dallas (TX), and Chicago (IL). Location‑based adjustments may apply.

Opportunity Future‑focused and one step ahead, you will produce, underwrite, and retain profitable E&S primary casualty business, cultivating and maintaining broker relationships.

Responsibilities

Underwrite, market, quote, bind, and retain a profitable book of excess and surplus lines business that meets profitability and growth targets, operating within granted authority.

Develop and execute production strategies and business plans to meet growth objectives and rate goals, coordinating with other Munich Re business units.

Measure and optimize portfolio progress by reviewing underwriting data and monitoring industry best practices.

Cultivate and maintain professional wholesale broker relationships.

Represent the Munich Re brand at client events, seminars, and meetings.

Assist in day‑to‑day operations and projects as assigned, having client, business group, divisional, and corporate impact.

Qualifications

7+ years of experience in insurance and/or reinsurance focusing on E&S casualty lines.

Excellent underwriting, marketing, and analytical skills.

Advanced insurance certifications (e.g., CPCU) preferred.

Advanced working knowledge of Commercial P&C/E&S products, underwriting processes, laws, regulations, and industry trends.

Proficiency in pricing models, tools, and risk evaluation models.

Successful track record of building strong broker relationships.

Tech‑savvy with a willingness to experiment with new technologies.

Strategic and tactical thinking abilities.

Exceptional communication skills to energize brokers, clients, and colleagues.

Negotiation skills for complex agreements with brokers.

Effective time management and organizational skills.

Willingness to travel 20%–30% of the time.
