Our law firm is seeking an ambitious and growth-minded Personal Injury Litigation Attorney to join our team at Skinner Accident & Injury Lawyers as we expand into Loudoun County. This attorney will be based at our new Loudoun County office and will handle litigation of Virginia personal injury cases throughout Northern Virginia, including Loudoun, Fairfax, Prince William, and Frederick Counties, plus Winchester, and the surrounding region. This person will manage a litigation caseload from the preparation of the complaint through trial and verdict. This is a litigation-focused position—cases will come to you ready for suit, and your role is to aggressively litigate them to maximize recovery for clients. Responsibilities Litigation & Trial Practice

Manage a litigation caseload of personal injury cases, including auto accidents, premises liability, dog bites, wrongful death, and other injury matters

Prepare and file complaints, answers, motions, and other pleadings in Virginia courts

Conduct and defend depositions

Manage all aspects of written discovery, including interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admission

Prepare and argue motions, including motions in limine, motions for summary judgment, and other dispositive motions

Vet and hire expert witnesses

Prepare cases for trial, including witness preparation, exhibit preparation, and trial strategy

Try cases to verdict in Virginia courts

Handle appeals when necessary

Court Appearances & Hearings

Appear in courts throughout Virginia, including Loudoun, Fairfax, Prince William, Clarke, Frederick, and surrounding jurisdictions

Handle case management conferences, motions hearings, and pre-trial conferences

Prepare and handle infant settlement and wrongful death petitions and hearings

Represent clients at mediations and arbitrations

Case Strategy & Client Advocacy

Develop litigation strategies to maximize client recovery

Negotiate settlements during litigation when appropriate

Maintain high standards of client communication throughout the litigation process

Coordinate with medical experts, accident reconstructionists, economists, and other expert witnesses

Work with the pre-litigation team to ensure smooth case transitions into litigation

Collaboration & Growth

Work collaboratively with attorneys and staff across all office locations

Build relationships with the Northern Virginia legal and trial bar

Contribute to the growth and success of our new Loudoun County office

Qualifications Education & Licensure

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Licensed and in good standing with the Virginia State Bar (required)

Licensed in West Virginia and/or Maryland (helpful but not required)

Experience

Proven trial experience with demonstrated courtroom skills

Experience taking cases to a verdict required

Minimum 3-5 years of personal injury litigation experience

Successful track record of jury verdicts and favorable settlements during litigation

Experience handling settlement petitions and court hearings

Familiarity with Virginia courts and civil procedure

Skills

Strong trial advocacy and courtroom presence

Excellent deposition skills, both taking and defending

Exceptional legal research and brief writing skills

Effective negotiation skills during litigation

Ability to manage a litigation caseload independently while collaborating with team members

Proficiency in case management software and legal technology tools

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (travel to courts throughout service area required)

Compensation $105,000 - $150,000 yearly
