BEPC is seeking a highly motivated UX Researcher, AI & LLM Products to join our client’s site in New York, NY. This role will support the Foundation Model Group within Prescient Design, a team developing AI and agentic frameworks to revolutionize drug discovery.
The UX Researcher will act as the bridge between the AI development team and end users—world‑class scientists and biomedical experts—to ensure the agentic framework is powerful, intuitive, and seamlessly integrated into complex scientific workflows. The goal is to champion a user‑centered approach, translating deep user insights into a product that accelerates scientific breakthroughs.
The hiring manager prioritizes profiles with experience in LLMs/agents and a biotech, pharma, or related background, specifically those who have shipped an internal build, software, or product.
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities
Define AI Product Strategy Through UX Research: Lead end‑to‑end user research to inform the product roadmap for agents and LLM‑based applications; identify pain points and new AI opportunities.
Design and Execute Usability Studies for AI Products: Develop and implement specialized testing methodologies (contextual inquiries, task‑based usability tests) for LLM‑driven interfaces and agentic workflows.
Operationalize User Feedback for AI Systems: Build a systematic process for gathering, analyzing, and tracking qualitative feedback to improve AI infrastructure.
Uncover Actionable Insights for Agentic Frameworks: Analyze user interactions and trust in AI outputs; synthesize findings to understand adoption and engagement.
Build User‑Testing Infrastructure: Create and maintain reusable testing protocols and recruitment pipelines for internal expert users.
Collaborate with AI/ML Engineers & Scientists: Translate complex user needs from drug discovery into clear, actionable product requirements.
Communicate with Clarity and Impact: Synthesize data into insights and recommendations; advocate for the user to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Qualifications
BS/MS in life sciences.
3–5+ years of experience conducting UX research and usability testing with complex, expert‑facing systems or internal tools.
3–5+ years of experience in qualitative and quantitative research methods (generative studies, usability studies, data analysis, A/B testing).
Demonstrated experience with AI products, specifically Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI agents.
Experience with UserTesting, Contentsquare, or similar usability testing platforms.
Experience building and scaling a user research practice, including processes for recruitment, testing, and knowledge management.
Ability to connect user insights to product strategy, roadmap decisions, and business impact.
Strong analytical skills and ability to synthesize complex qualitative data into actionable themes.
Comfortable tackling ambiguous, high‑stakes problems and curious about complex domains like drug discovery.
Communicates with clarity, empathy, and strategic focus.
Preferred Qualifications
Direct experience shipping internal software, tools, or products within biotech, pharma, or related industries.
Hands‑on experience with LLM‑based applications and standardized protocols like MCP (Model Context Protocol).
Experience working directly with subject‑matter experts and stakeholders on internal tools.
