Director of Technical Services (Construction)
The Director of Technical Services is responsible for leading all technical service operations related to the design, maintenance, repair, testing, and lifecycle management of power and distribution transformers. This leadership role ensures that service standards, customer expectations, and regulatory requirements are met while driving innovation, quality, and operational efficiency. This is an onsite position, and the ideal candidate will be within commuting distance of one of our three primary facilities located in Temple, TX; Solomon, KS; or Sharon, PA. Business travel for this role is expected to range between 25% and 50%.
Responsibilities
Mentor, review and approve the designs, calculations and reports prepared by other technical staff through our peer review process.
Support field service teams as necessary by providing technical knowledge of Electrical Equipment.
Identify relevant industry and safety standards for products and systems.
Create procedural standards, operation instructions, and manuals.
Create multiple concepts to solve customer issues/concerns.
Aggregate and prioritize others with regards to analysis support and personal knowledge for development of product line features and design improvements.
Provide information for technical publications.
Collaborate with production and product support in resolving quality and/or functional issues.
Lead concept design reviews or other team meetings.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
Lead team to perform detailed RCA inspections of Electrical Equipment and provide conclusions and recommendations.
Technical Leadership and Strategy Develop and implement technical services strategies for transformer operations (installation, commissioning, maintenance, repair, refurbishment). Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) on transformer design, diagnostics, failure analysis, and field service practices.
