ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary expert resource and first point of contact for clients, including research, analysis, and handling a wide variety of client questions regarding risk management, coverage/eligibility, contractual issues, government reporting compliance, endorsements, trend and legal updates.
Analyze client data for new and renewal business, conduct market comparisons, strategize with senior executives and managers, recommend coverage and exclusions, negotiate premium and commission rates for best alternatives.
Provide marketing and new business development support to producers, including preparing presentations and proposals, and participating in meetings with prospective clients.
Conduct marketing and new business development for employee’s book of business.
Mentor and support the team, encouraging development through training and growth opportunities.
Establish and maintain primary, ongoing business relationships with clients, becoming first point of contact for all service needs.
Consistently establish trust and confidence with clients through periodic contacts and prompt resolution of questions and issues.
Interface with clients, producers, and team members to develop comprehensive customer service plans.
Analyze client and market data, prepare insurance renewal options, advise on best alternatives.
Negotiate with carriers on clients’ behalf for best premiums, commissions and coverage.
Maintain expert knowledge, prepare resource information on market and regulatory trends.
Work with claims advocates to ensure client needs are satisfied through the claims process.
Prepare renewal specifications for carriers, analyze claims and pricing.
Conduct renewal presentations, analyze and provide client referrals to the Sales Team.
Develop strong relationships with underwriters, wholesale brokers, counsel and other professional providers.
Set priorities and manage workflow to meet all goals.
Maintain cordial relationships with clients, co-workers, carriers, vendors and contacts.
Document correspondence in agency management systems.
Interact effectively, provide information and guidance to achieve business goals.
Stay informed on industry developments, new products, legislation, and technology.
Project a professional image in action and appearance.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum of five years’ experience in a mid-size brokerage or carrier.
Five years’ experience managing a book of business.
Captive experience preferred.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, juggling multiple competing tasks and demands.
High interpersonal skills; handle sensitive and confidential situations with teamwork, poise, tact and diplomacy.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Valid State Property and Casualty License required; Valid State Driver’s License required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, talk or hear. Specific vision abilities include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. Ability to travel independently to clients; some air travel may be required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT Moderate noise level; no or limited exposure to physical risk.
SALARY The national average salary for this role is $80,000 to $95,000 in base pay, exclusive of bonuses or benefits.
