Job Summary The Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator (Assistant CRC) works directly with the Principal Investigator (PI) and performs duties related to the support and coordination of research. The Assistant CRC’s primary duties include, but are not limited to, screening, enrollment, and tracking of research participants; preparation of experiment materials and protocols; data collection using a variety of techniques (such as fMRI, EEG, TMS, and behavioral testing); assisting with the maintenance of the participant database. The Assistant CRC will participate in data analysis under supervision and will work alongside a diverse team of staff and volunteers. Regular meetings with the supervisor and research team are expected.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

Department Description Carhart‑Harris Lab is an academic collective. It is comprised of a network of collaborators linked to Dr. Robin Carhart‑Harris, Ralph Metzner Distinguished Professor of Neurology and Psychiatry at the University of California San Francisco. The core team is located at The University of California San Francisco but our wider network is distributed across the world. Carhart‑Harris Lab values principles of Open Science, including open access, resources, data, methods, and hypothesis sharing. We are driven by a desire to better understand, using the scientific method. Our core focus is on the nature of consciousness and mental health, including how mental health can be positively impacted via psychedelic therapy and what its mechanisms of action are. Psychedelic compounds serve as focal scientific tools in this endeavor.

Required Qualifications

High School graduation and sufficient experience and demonstrated skills to successfully perform the assigned duties and responsibilities and/or equivalent experience/training

Excellent verbal and written communications and presentation skills; excellent organizational skills; and excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively in a diverse team.

Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Windows.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, team‑based environment; ability to prioritize tasks and meet multiple deadlines on concurrent projects.

Ability to establish cooperative working relationships with participants and co‑workers.

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated proficiency with research terminology.

Experience working with participants in a research setting.

Proficiency with statistical analysis software.
