Role Overview
We are seeking a commercially focused consulting leader to drive business growth, client success, and analytics-led transformation within our Pharma and Life Sciences portfolio.
As a Principal, you will own key client relationships, P&L performance, and business expansion across large enterprise accounts. You will partner with C-level stakeholders to design and deliver analytics-driven strategies, lead multi-disciplinary teams, and identify new growth opportunities. This role requires a combination of sales acumen, industry expertise, and delivery leadership - ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of data, strategy, and business impact.
Key Responsibilities
Business Growth & Sales Leadership
Own P&L responsibility for assigned accounts, ensuring sustained growth and profitability.
Drive new business development through existing accounts and new logo acquisition within the Pharma and Life Sciences sector.
Partner with Business Development and Marketing to shape go-to-market plans, develop proposals, and close large, multi-year engagements.
Build executive-level relationships that establish MathCo as a strategic partner and trusted advisor.
Translate market trends and client priorities into revenue-generating opportunities.
Client Success & Strategic Delivery
Oversee multiple consulting and analytics engagements, ensuring solutions are aligned with client strategy and deliver measurable outcomes.
Lead account planning, resourcing, and operational execution across global delivery teams.
Act as the voice of the client, ensuring insights and recommendations drive real-world business transformation.
Support delivery excellence through governance, financial discipline, and proactive risk management.
Bring deep understanding of the pharma value chain, including commercial analytics, sales and marketing effectiveness, market access, patient engagement, and clinical R&D optimization.
Identify opportunities for AI/ML and data-driven innovation across pharma functions — e.g., omnichannel marketing, brand analytics, forecasting, and field force optimization.
Leverage domain knowledge to influence solution design, thought leadership, and client conversations.
Lead and mentor a high-performing team of Engagement Managers and Senior Consultants.
Foster cross-functional collaboration across the U.S. and India delivery units.
Champion MathCo’s culture of ownership, inclusion, and continuous learning.
Required Qualifications
15+ years of experience in consulting, analytics, or data-driven business transformation, with significant exposure to Pharma / Life Sciences clients.
Proven track record in P&L management, revenue and portfolio expansion.
Strong sales and relationship management skills, including experience leading pursuits, proposals, and contract negotiations.
Prior experience with top-tier consulting firms or leadership roles in Pharma strategy, commercial analytics, or digital transformation.
Exceptional executive communication skills with the ability to distill analytical outcomes into business impact stories.
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional, global teams and deliver results in complex, matrixed environments.
Preferred Qualifications
MBA or advanced degree from a top-tier institution.
Experience leveraging AI/ML to solve pharma business challenges (e.g., launch optimization, market access analytics, omnichannel personalization).
Established industry network across Pharma, Biotech, or Life Sciences consulting.
