Director, Insurance Solutions - Asset Management
We are looking for a Director, Insurance Solutions to join our Investment Solutions team. You will play a strategic role in designing and delivering bespoke investment solutions that address the complex and evolving needs of insurance clients.
What You'll Do
Leverage your deep insurance industry knowledge to translate client objectives into actionable, customized portfolio strategies with a focus on regulatory capital efficiency, asset‑liability management (ALM), accounting standards, and optimized risk‑return outcomes.
Partner with internal teams and external stakeholders to develop investment strategies that aim to achieve client objectives, considering regulatory, capital, and liability obligations.
Work with Sales to manage and expand relationships, serve as a strategic advisor, and deliver high‑impact client presentations.
Provide expertise across asset allocation strategies, including fixed income, private assets, equities, alternatives, and structured derivatives products; advise clients on the implications of regulatory capital frameworks such as Solvency II, NAIC guidelines, and IFRS 17.
Analyze market trends and regulatory changes to develop capital‑efficient investment strategies.
Represent the firm through industry conferences and thought‑leadership publications, maintaining external relationships to stay current on market trends.
Collaborate with the strategic advisory team to develop appropriate ALM and risk analytics tools & systems that deliver outputs for the development of investment strategies.
Who You Are
Bachelor's degree
10+ years of experience in investment management, insurance asset management, or a related field, with a strong focus on institutional clients.
Deep expertise in evaluating insurance company financial statements for the development of investment strategies.
Solid understanding of regulatory frameworks, including Risk‑Based Capital (RBC), US statutory standards, NAIC guidelines, IFRS 17, and Bermuda Monetary Authority (BMA).
Strong command of capital adequacy, asset‑liability management, and solvency metrics (using Solvency II).
Strong understanding of capital markets, global economic trends, portfolio construction, risk modeling, asset allocation frameworks, and the broader competitive landscape.
Proven ability to design and implement complex, multi‑asset investment solutions spanning public and private investments.
Demonstrated success in a client‑facing, consultative role within a global, matrixed organization.

Advanced qualifications (MBA, CFA, CAIA, or actuarial credentials such as ASA/FSA).
Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage credibly with C‑suite executives and investment committees.
Strong analytical skills with proven ability to deliver data‑driven, creative solutions to clients.
Self‑motivated team player who thrives in a collaborative environment.
Proficiency in tools such as Bloomberg and insurance investment analytics platforms.
Familiarity with international regulatory regimes—such as Solvency II in Europe and awareness of other evolving global insurance regulatory regulations.
Salary Range (Non‑Exempt) $205,000 – $277,000 per year
Location Remote or hybrid talent; principal office locations include New York City, Chicago, Charlotte, Des Moines, Seattle, or Denver.
Travel This role requires extensive travel.
