Solution Architect Location: Wayne, PA or Des Moines, IA – on site 8 days per month.

Compensation: $120,000 to $150,000 (direct hire only).

Work Requirements: Holders or Authorized to Work in the US.

Job Description As a Solution Architect, you will work for a business domain (Digital, Mid‑Office, Back‑Office) and are responsible for the architecture of the solutions (applications) in the domain. You will describe business processes and requirements and translate them into IT solutions, guide development teams in creating solutions by providing architectural direction, and organize solution design activities. Together with the solution design team you will document the architecture direction in a PSA and maintain the architecture repository.

Responsibilities

Align with business stakeholders to understand business processes/requirements and translate these to IT solutions.

Organize solution design activities and involve the right stakeholders.

Design solutions based on the business requirements and assure these are within architectural boundaries.

Capture the solution direction in the Product Solution Architecture (PSA).

Arrange approval for architecture artifacts with business stakeholders, lead architect, architects of other domains, and delivery teams.

Provide support, overview, and guidance in the specific business domain regarding preconditions for successful adoption of changes or new technology by coaching and supporting business and IT to deploy solutions.

Work closely with the Lead Architect and co‑create architecture roadmaps and an architecture plan in line with the business strategy.

Execute the architecture roadmaps by maintaining and coordinating the architecture backlog of the business domain.

Maintain the architecture repository.

Provide architectural guidance to Agile engineers.

Monitor implementation of solutions to ensure they are in accordance with PSAs.

Proactively develop ideas to improve the IT landscape within the business domain.

Stay abreast of new or changing insights, architecture practices, technology, and relevant developments in the IT and financial services markets.

Qualifications and Experience

5 years of experience designing and architecting IT solutions.

Financial services experience is a plus.

Strong communication and leadership skills.

3–5 years of experience with Pega technologies, particularly cloud solutions and integration with non‑Pega environments (not required but a big plus).

Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments in the IT sector and financial services.

University‑level education.

Practical experience with architecture frameworks.

Excellent written and verbal communication.

Customer‑oriented mindset.

Leadership and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to coach Agile engineers.

Focus on delivery.

Ability to convey IT subjects in business terminology.

Extras

Certified for TOGAF.

Certified for Archimate.

Sound technology background.

Strong understanding of architecture concepts.

Familiarity with commercial lending/lease.

Experience in project management methodologies.

Experience in software development methodologies.
