Network Engineer with Security Clearance Network Engineer / Technician Position requires TS/SCI with a Full Scope Polygraph.

Performs comprehensive network services encompassing maintenance, sustainment, and optimization of existing systems while identifying and correcting complex internetwork issues. Ensures consistent operational readiness across data, voice, and video networks through proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance enhancement.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain, sustain, and troubleshoot data, voice, and/or video network hardware and systems to ensure reliability and performance.

Assess and modernize legacy networks in alignment with specified upgrade plans.

Provide Tier‑1 through Tier‑3 technical support, resolving routine to complex network issues and escalating as necessary.

Answer technical inquiries, recommend, and implement approved solutions.

Install, configure, and maintain network applications and services on servers or voice equipment; perform system testing and issue resolution.

Design, implement, and maintain LAN, CAN, WAN, and voice systems according to operational requirements and security standards.

Prepare and maintain network diagrams and documentation to reflect current operational status.

Configure and optimize routers, switches, intelligent hubs, PBX, call management systems, and other data or voice network devices to enhance network performance.

Operate network analyzers, WAN test equipment, and network simulators to monitor, test, and improve network health.

Perform scheduled maintenance routines in accordance with standard procedures; identify and resolve issues or elevate as needed.

Interface with users, vendors, and team members to coordinate resolution efforts and maintain high service levels.

Install, configure, and maintain McAfee Sidewinder Firewalls (versions 7 & 8) and understand firewall packet/proxy filtering mechanisms.

Participate in the configuration, deployment, and management of next‑generation firewall solutions.

Activate and deactivate network lines per schedule and perform first‑ and second‑level problem determination as needed.

Follow detailed work instructions and maintain accurate documentation of network activities, changes, and resolutions.

Requirements

Minimum of four (4) years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity. Two (2) additional years of relevant network engineering experience may substitute for an Associate’s degree.

Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology or related field from an accredited college is required.

Installation, configuration, and maintenance of network devices such as firewalls, switches, routers, and cabling (Cisco, Brocade, or Juniper preferred).

Experience with WAN technologies such as SONET (OC3, OC48, OC192), DS3, and T1.

Familiarity with Taclanes (KG‑175), MPLS, BGP, VPNs, and secure communication technologies.

Understanding of network protocols, routing, and firewall configurations.

Certifications: IAT Level II baseline certification (as defined by DoD 8570.01‑M) — Required; CCNA or equivalent certification — Required; Desired: CompTIA Network+, CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent advanced certifications.

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and drive a company vehicle.

Must be available to work an 8‑hour shift between 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM, or as otherwise assigned.

Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph — Required.
