Event Sales Manager
Join Hyatt Regency San Francisco as an Event Sales Manager, responsible for generating revenue by selling and coordinating events, including meetings, banquets, conferences, weddings, and social functions. This role works closely with clients throughout the sales and planning process—from initial inquiry to post‑event follow‑up—to ensure a seamless, successful experience that aligns with the hotel’s service standards.
Key Responsibilities
Proactively solicit new business and respond to incoming leads for meetings, banquets, and social events.
Conduct site tours and client meetings to promote the hotel’s event spaces, services, and amenities.
Develop proposals, negotiate rates and contracts, and finalize details in coordination with operations and culinary teams.
Manage all aspects of the event planning process, including space allocation, menu selection, audio/visual needs, and guest accommodations.
Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring satisfaction and encouraging repeat business and referrals.
Collaborate with Banquet and Culinary teams to ensure smooth execution of events.
Meet or exceed individual and departmental revenue and sales goals.
Maintain accurate records of all sales activities and event details in the hotel’s sales system.
Attend networking events, trade shows, and client entertainment as needed to generate new leads.
Stay up‑to‑date on industry trends, competitor activities, and the local market to identify opportunities.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or related field preferred.
Minimum 2–3 years of experience in event, catering, or hotel sales in a full‑service or upscale hotel.
Strong organizational and time‑management skills with attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency with sales and event management software (Delphi, Opera, Salesforce, etc.) is a plus.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Strong customer‑service mindset and genuine passion for hospitality.
Proven ability to meet or exceed sales goals.
Experience with weddings, corporate events, and social functions.
Knowledge of food and beverage operations and hotel banquet setups.
Ability to multi‑task and manage multiple events simultaneously.
Salary $70,600 – $106,000.
