Position Overview
We are seeking a talented and motivated Back‑End/Services Software Engineer to join our dynamic development team. This role is ideal for an early‑career developer who is passionate about building scalable, reliable, and high‑performance cloud services. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing modern Java and Python microservices that run within a modern orchestration and cloud environment such as AWS. Responsibilities
Writing, building, deploying, and maintaining diverse software applications
Overseeing and guiding the analysis, writing, building, and deployment of software
Overseeing the automated testing and providing feedback to management during the development process
Modifying and testing changes to previously developed programs
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
At least 5 years of experience with Java
Foundational experience with Java and/or Python in a professional setting
Basic understanding of cloud computing concepts (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
Experience with lightweight frameworks such as Quarkus or Spring Boot
Comprehensive testing experience, including unit tests (e.g., JUnit), system tests, and integration tests
Proficiency with various data storage solutions (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, AWS or Azure cloud storage services)
Experience implementing and managing Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment pipelines. GitLab CI/CD is preferred, but Jenkins experience is also acceptable
Proficiency with Maven, Gradle, and NPM
In‑depth knowledge of and practical experience with standard AWS managed services (S3, ECS, EC2, Lambda, Step Functions, DynamoDB, OpenSearch)
Strong knowledge of GEOINT (Geospatial Intelligence) data collection and distribution paradigms
Ability to effectively work within a software engineering team
Ability to work in office full time
Active TS/SCI U.S. Government Security Clearance
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Kubernetes
Experience with Government Clouds (e.g., GovCloud, C2S)
Experience with Docker
Experience with Python
Experience with Source Control tools (e.g., Git, Gitlab)
Experience with DevSecOps and Agile Scrum software development methodology including using tools like Git, Jira and Confluence
IAT Level II or III certification (i.e. Security+, CISSP, or CASP)
Pay Range
$125,000 - $180,000. Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case‑by‑case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job‑related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
