We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to optimize and enhance the structural load criteria for liquid cooling piping systems. This role involves reviewing and improving documentation standards, coordinating with various teams, and ensuring technical accuracy across projects.
Responsibilities
Review and optimize structural load criteria for liquid cooling piping systems, analyzing component gravity loads and seismic/thermal combinations.
Improve load documentation in Basis Of Design documents for liquid cooling systems, ensuring proper racking load criteria and structural requirements.
Develop process runbooks for standardized workflows.
Review liquid cooling submittals across multiple projects to ensure standardization and proper structural integration.
Collaborate with racking team, MPS, and racking vendors to align on load calculations, connection designs, and pipe support strategies.
Coordinate with construction teams to develop improved pipe and racking coordination workflows.
Essential Skills
ABET accredited Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering.
PE or SE Engineering license.
5 years experience in pipe stress design, connection design, and pipe support.
7 years experience in structural design for industrial or commercial projects.
Proficiency in building codes, regulations, and standards including IBC and ASCE.
Experience in design and calculation for auxiliary framing systems used to support cable tray, conduit, ductwork, etc.
Experience in design and review of non-structural components and non-building structures.
Experience in Construction Administration.
Strong communication and writing skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
ABET accredited Master's degree in civil or structural engineering.
Work Environment This position is based onsite in Seattle. The work environment involves collaboration with various teams and partners to ensure effective design and implementation of structural systems.
Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Seattle, WA.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $75.00/hr.
