Physician Assistant (SOM Pediatric Cardiology)
The School of Medicine Pediatric Cardiology Unit is seeking a Physician Assistant (PA) to join the Blalock Taussig Thomas Pediatric and Congenital Heart Center, Division of Pediatric Cardiology. The PA will provide comprehensive care to children with congenital and acquired heart disease in the acute care setting and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary health care team.
Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive health assessments, obtain history, and perform physical examinations.
Order and interpret lab, radiographic, and other studies; perform tests and procedures within scope of practice.
Establish and implement a plan of care, prescribe medications, and perform procedures as allowed by Maryland scope of practice.
Triage patient telephone calls, messages, and interactions; track patient compliance with treatment plan.
Arrange referrals to appropriate specialties when needed; maintain concise documentation of patient visits. \
Utilize time management to see patients efficiently and maintain consistent level of productivity.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support quality and safety initiatives and institutional core values.
Support orientation and education of newly hired PAs and interdisciplinary team members.
Technical Qualifications or Specialized Certifications
Current CPR and PALS certification.
Completion of the Johns Hopkins Hospital credentialing process required prior to start.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree; certification by the National College of Certified Physician Assistants (NCCPA) or similar national certifying body.
Completion of a CAAHEP certified Physician Assistant program.
Must be licensed as PA in the State of Maryland or other state where practicing.
Additional education may substitute for required experience, and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the Johns Hopkins University equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
At least 3 years of relevant PA experience within cardiac surgery, cardiac critical care, or pediatric cardiology.

$100,000 - $152,900 Annually (targeted $120,000; commensurate with experience) Schedule:
Variable 12‑hour shifts, 7 days a week, 37.5 hours per week Location:
