Electrical Engineer- Relay Protection and Control / High Voltage An Engineer with Asplundh Engineering Services (AES) will lead a team or work on a team to complete engineering tasks and create custom engineering solutions to meet customer needs. The candidate should also demonstrate the ability to adapt in a fast-paced and evolving industry.

An ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, organizational, and planning skills while excelling in a team-based environment. The candidate should approach all tasks in a detail-oriented manner, with a strong sense of ownership over all deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

Creating and reviewing Protection & Control settings designs

Performing protection studies and analyses to develop basis documents and relay setting files

Creating and reviewing HMI (Human-Machine Interface) settings

Creating and reviewing RTU settings designs

Designing and configuring operating characteristics of managed switches and LANs

Reviewing current industry best practices to ensure compliance with cyber security requirements

Performing any entry‑level engineering role in the design aspects of engineering projects and assisting other departmental engineers

Performing on‑site engineering support when needed

Planning and coordinating projects with limited supervision

Understanding and delivering results based on client‑specific standards and requirements

Training and developing junior personnel

Leading portions of a project while working on a team to reach a common goal

Education & Experience

2-5 years of experience in relay/protection engineering or related industry required.

B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.

Qualifications

Must be 18 years of age or older.

Programming knowledge or experience with protection relays and other substation equipment.

Knowledge of basic engineering theory, practices, and procedures.
