A growing cybersecurity and technology consulting firm is seeking a
Senior Cloud Engineer
to support a classified federal program. This role will lead the design, automation, and optimization of secure cloud environments across multiple classification domains. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in AWS, Infrastructure-as-Code, and automation frameworks, with a strong understanding of compliance and security requirements in government cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities
Translate mission and program requirements into secure, scalable, and resilient cloud architectures.
Design and implement AWS-based solutions that meet IL5–IL6+ compliance, performance, and security standards.
Develop and maintain cloud governance frameworks aligned with federal and DoD policies.
Automate deployment, configuration, and monitoring using Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
Configure and secure Linux and Windows Server environments for high availability and consistency.
Integrate and manage cloud-native services including EC2, S3, Lambda, and EBS to support mission workloads.
Implement advanced security measures such as encryption, access control, and auditing.
Develop automation scripts in Python and Bash for cloud management and maintenance.
Collaborate with cybersecurity, DevSecOps, and engineering teams to deliver optimized, secure solutions.
Required Qualifications
Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph.
4–7 years of experience in cloud engineering with a focus on secure, scalable infrastructure.
Proven experience architecting and deploying AWS solutions across IL5–IL6+ domains.
Hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, EBS).
Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible).
Strong Linux and Windows Server administration skills.
Experience implementing cloud security controls and governance frameworks.
Proficient in Python and Bash scripting for automation and orchestration.
Active CompTIA Security+ or equivalent DoD 8140/8570 certification (valid for at least one year).
AWS certifications such as Solutions Architect or SysOps Administrator.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting classified AWS, Azure, or GCP environments.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerized deployments, and DevSecOps best practices.
Experience applying DISA STIGs and RMF controls to cloud environments.
