Support Services Manager – City of East Palo Alto
City of East Palo Alto is seeking a Support Services Manager to join the East Palo Alto Police Department. The ideal candidate will be detail‑oriented, adaptable, and possess strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Salary & Benefits Hourly:
$60.67 – $73.75
Monthly:
$10,517.08 – $12,783.57
Plus an attractive benefits package.
Key Responsibilities
Proven experience in budget preparation, management, and financial analysis.
Strong understanding of city purchasing rules, procurement processes, and compliance requirements.
Ability to prepare clear, accurate, and persuasive staff reports and correspondence.
Proficiency in statistical analysis and data‑driven decision‑making.
Excellent office management and record‑keeping skills to ensure efficient operations.
Strong public communication and presentation abilities.
Team‑oriented mindset that positively contributes to a cohesive and collaborative work environment.
Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Commitment to adaptability and continuous improvement in response to organizational and operational changes.
Genuine appreciation for community policing and active participation in community engagement activities.
Education & Experience Any combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. Typical qualification: equivalent to a bachelor's degree in public administration, police administration, business administration, or related field and five (5) years of administrative and analytical experience, including two (2) years in a supervisory capacity. Experience in a law enforcement agency preferred. Bilingual proficiency desired.
License & Certifications Valid California Driver’s License at time of appointment and a satisfactory driving record.
Selection Process Complete all required application materials. Applications will be reviewed to identify the most qualified candidates for interview. Successful candidates will be invited to a panel interview then to department interviews. The successful candidate is expected to begin employment as soon as possible.
