DTCC offers a flexible/hybrid model of 3 days onsite and 2 days remote (onsite Tuesdays, Wednesdays and a third day unique to each team or employee).

The Impact You Will Have in This Role Responsible for creating, communicating, and facilitating alignment to enterprise‑wide application architecture, technology strategy and standards, architecture and design principles, guidelines, and common solutions. Responsible for advancing application architecture in support of DTCC’s business and IT strategy and developing roadmaps and blueprints to ensure architecture goals are met in both tactical and strategic frames. Collaborating with clients & partners – to collect and assess the requirements and provide optimal strategically aligned solutions.

Your Primary Responsibilities

Solution Architecture & Business Alignment

Translate complex and sometimes ambiguous business and technical requirements into sound, scalable, and secure technical solutions. Understand business needs, IT strategy, and existing assets to identify optimal solution architectures.

Implementation Guidance & Team Enablement

Assess implementation context and team capabilities to provide actionable architectural guidance. Ensure successful delivery of application architecture through mentoring and technical leadership.

Strategic Collaboration & Governance

Partner with application owners, subject matter experts, product owners, architects, engineers, and delivery teams to enhance DTCC’s Technology Governance, Risk, and Compliance frameworks. Influence strategic direction and define target state platform architectures, capturing outcomes in clear and actionable technical designs.

Architecture Office Engagement

Collaborate with the Architecture Office to define, publish, and maintain processes for compliance with architectural principles, guidelines, and standards. Manage software development and deployment practices, evaluation and selection of third‑party products, and retirement of obsolete technologies.

Technology Evaluation & Recommendation

Research and evaluate alternative solutions, recommending the most efficient and cost‑effective options for system design and delivery.

Technical Strategy & Leadership

Provide architectural oversight and guidance on technical strategy. Design end‑to‑end technology architectures and mentor technical teams to deliver innovative services that enhance customer experience and accelerate delivery.

Disaster Recovery & Resiliency Planning

Develop and maintain comprehensive disaster recovery strategies and solutions to meet internal and regulatory requirements.

Technology Trends & Innovation

Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends. Recommend strategic directions and approaches that align with business goals and future‑state vision.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree preferred with Masters or equivalent experience

Minimum of 8 years of related experience

Talents Needed for Success

Enterprise Capability and IT Service Management: Proven experience in designing enterprise capabilities and services, with a strong foundation in ITSM principles and practices.

Architectural Documentation: Ability to create a wide range of architectural artifacts, including but not limited to logical and reference architectures, sequence diagrams, and system flow diagrams.

Analytical Expertise: Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to assess complex systems and propose effective solutions.

Event‑Driven Architecture: Hands‑on experience with event‑driven systems and technologies such as Apache Kafka, Distributed MQ, and Amazon Kinesis.

Distributed Systems Architecture: Deep understanding of all layers of distributed architecture, including frontend, backend, data storage, and system integration.

Cloud Architecture: Extensive architectural and hands‑on implementation experience with the AWS cloud platform is required. Familiarity with other cloud environments such as Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is a strong plus.

Data Platforms and Analytics: Experience in data warehousing, data transport, analytics, and reporting using the Snowflake platform and its ecosystem.

Standardized Application Deployment: Expertise in enterprise‑scale application deployment on AWS, with a broad understanding of AWS services and best practices.

Security and Trusted Computing: Knowledge of secure application design and implementation, including enabling trusted compute environments.

Architecture Patterns and Standards: Demonstrated ability to define and implement solution, platform, and application architecture patterns and standards. Must be able to communicate complex concepts clearly and concisely, with strong skills in tools such as Microsoft Visio.

Nice to have experience with architectural platforms/tools like Hopex, LeanIX, ServiceNow, ArchiMate. Experience with TOGAF or similar architectural framework is a plus.

Desirable Skills: Experience or familiarity with emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Blockchain is a plus.
